New PC is on its way!

I just received a message that my package with the PC components has been registered with the postal service and is available for item tracking. Seeing as it’s Thursday already, getting it this week is looking a little tight, but it should arrive soon either way. Hypeee!

Me and Nik are currently trying to figure out how to rearrange our gaming stations, as my current PC is basically working alright and could still be utilized somehow. Our flat being rather small, the primary issue is space. Since the new PC will be powerful enough to handle both gaming and streaming without breaking a sweat, Nik could take over the old one — provided we find a spot for it. A capture card has been on Nik’s wishlist for a while, so it’s possible he’ll soon be able to stream console games as well, and with proper broadcasting software.

Today I also decided to go Turbo on Twitch. It seems like not wanting or needing to pay for entertainment on the internet — whether directly or indirectly by letting yourself be exposed to ads — is a fairly common sentiment, though not one I really wish to espouse. Given how much I use Twitch and how much it has given me in return, directly supporting the site feels appropriate at this point. And maybe one day Twitch and I will be proper partners!

I’m still pretty far away from the average viewer counts required to become partnered (get a sub button, custom emotes, and all that). I’m the kind of person who can only bother with the very few games I really love, so attempting to stream games with larger audiences just for the sake of getting a larger audience is pretty much out of the question. I’m fairly sure the general interest for Mass Effect will start increasing again, though, especially as information on the new game starts dropping on a more regular basis. I’m hoping my channel can remain a place where fans can hang out while enjoying the existing series and getting increasingly hyped about the upcoming game together.

As long as the ME3 multiplayer servers are up, however, you can count on me streaming it. And it may require a slightly higher Renegade score, but I’ll make sure to persuade Nik to stream it in the near future, too 😉
